Hatch Mansfield, a regular patron of The Drinks Trust, has boosted the wine agency’s support of the charity with a combination of donations and fundraising initiatives planned for this difficult time and beyond. The Villa Maria family of wineries, distributed in the UK solely by Hatch Mansfield, is also making a special donation directly to the trust at this key time. The monies raised will go to support those in need in the industry, many of them as result of COVID19.
Karen Fistonich, Director at Villa Maria, comments: “Everyone in the Villa Maria family here in New Zealand is thinking of their colleagues in the UK and hearing how difficult it is for on-premise and independent wine merchants during these challenging times. In order to give assistance to those most in need we have decided to make a donation to The Drinks Trust who are working so hard to help the trade. The teams at Villa Maria, Esk Valley, Vidal and Leftfield have a close connection to the UK market and wanted to show some support. As we all work together, we will be stronger.”
Coronavirus is having a devastating impact on business in the UK with the on-trade and independent wine specialist sectors having a particularly difficult time. This has led The Drinks Trust, which has been supporting the drinks industry since 1886, to launch the COVID19 Relief Fund. This fund and continued support from patrons will be essential in helping those in need.
Hatch Mansfield run regular promotional activity for their independent customers and will contribute £10 to The Drinks Trust to assist those impacted by COVID19, for every order placed throughout the May and June promotions.
Since ongoing support will be essential for the trade when businesses can re-open, the Hatch Mansfield team have also pledged to raise money for The Drinks Trust with a future fundraising effort as well as the continued support of the trust’s own fundraising activities.
Comments Patrick McGrath, Hatch Mansfield MD, “The Drinks Trust is an important support to our industry. It is there for anyone to turn to in a time of difficulty and no more so than now. We need to support them as much as we can in our own small way, now and also in the future. Besides these initiatives we are also looking at how Hatch Mansfield might provide practical assistance with the charity’s future vocational plans.”
The Hatch Mansfield portfolio of wines includes Champagne Taittinger, Louis Jadot, Terroirs et Talents, Joseph Mellot, M. CHAPOUTIER, CVNE, Gaja, Viña Errazuriz, Caliterra, Zuccardi , Domaine Carneros, Robert Oatley, Villa Maria, Esk Valley, Vidal, Leftfield and Kleine Zalze.
