The winners of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2023 have been announced at an awards ceremony at BAFTA, London on 16th May. Author and television presenter, Nadiya Hussain MBE revealed the winners, the ceremony was also livestreamed on the competition’s YouTube channel to an audience across the globe.
French photographer, Thierry Gaudillère won the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year category with ‘Girl After Emptying a Tank at the End of the Fermentation’, having also won the “People” subcategory. “Places” was won by Spanish photographer, Oscar Oliveras, with ‘Pommard Pruning’, taken in Burgundy while United States-based photographer, Adrian Chitty, won the “Produce” subcategory with ‘The Eye’, an intriguing image capturing chardonnay lees forming a striking pattern at the bottom of a stainless steel fermentation tank.
Swedish photographer, Jonas Borg, won the Champagne Taittinger Food for Celebration category with ‘Dinner with the King and Queen of Sweden’ and the winner of the Champagne Taittinger Wedding Food Photographer category was ‘Stories During Dinner’ by Isabelle Hattnik, Netherlands.
This year’s global judging panel was chaired by legendary food photographer David Loftus and included: Vitalie Taittinger, President, Champagne Taittinger and Magui Chadwick, Family Ambassador, Viña Errazuriz & Viña Sena.
An exhibition of the 2023 Finalists will be held The Royal Photographic Society in Bristol from Saturday 20th May to Sunday 11th June.
