Following the success of 2022’s inaugural challenge – a two-day sponsorship cycling challenge through the vineyards of Burgundy – this year the event will follow an epic cycling route through Bordeaux on the 8th & 9th May.
Created by Pierre-Henry Gagey and the team at Louis Jadot, Bike to Care is a unique charity fundraising event which sees industry names coming together to raise much-needed funds to support the hospitality industry, both to support those in difficulty and to support nurturing new talent. Last year the event raised over €250,000 across the various chosen charities.
The UK team will once again be cycling in aid of Hospitality Action and this year they will be led by Hatch Mansfield’s Mark Calver and Aaron Turner.
They will be joined by members of the UK hospitality industry including Richard Davies and Richard Ball from the Calcot Collection; Joanne Taylor-Stagg from the Athenaeum Hotel; Nicholas Davies from the Langham Hotel; Rob Flinter from the Park Plaza Waterloo Hotel; James Hiley-Jones from Greenclose Hotels; Peter Dean from the Buyer, Patrick Schmitt from the Drinks Business and John Stimpfig from First Press Publishing publications.
Training and fundraising are both well underway with online donations via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bike-to-care-bordeaux23-uk-team
