If you are fortunate enough to find yourself in California, there has never been a better time to visit Domaine Carneros, which has opened a beautiful new garden conservatory, the Jardin d’Hiver. Eileen Crane, Founding Winemaker and CEO, was inspired to build the garden after a meeting many years ago with the Taittinger family in the Hôtel de Crillon’s glass-enclosed courtyard. Eileen describes the Jardin d’Hiver as “an enchanting space where Art Nouveau elegance frames a spectacular view of the gardens beyond. Enamoured by the garden conservatories that grace many grand estates in the City of Lights, I was inspired to build one of our own.”
Eileen wanted the garden conservatory to be both a homage to Paris and a showcase for the rolling hills of the Carneros estate vineyards. “The conservatory’s gracefully-curved glass walls, skylights, white marble tables, indoor-outdoor fireplaces and majestic fountain comprise a stunning setting to gather with friends and savour the estates wines.” To celebrate this sumptuous new space, Domaine Carneros has created an unparalleled tasting experience called “The Art of Sparkling Wine Pairing: Asian Bites with Bubbles,” an Asian-inspired, seasonally-driven five-course food and wine pairing designed to showcase the versatility of sparkling wine.
The garden is open to visitors who wish to pop in for a glass of wine or indulge in the Domaine’s new culinary tasting.
